the climb

i took yesterday off as a much needed refresh. besides, i’m the one who is pushing myself to do this, it only makes sense that i treat myself with kindness and love. thank you to my friend Jake who inspired me to write this one after loaning me his copy of “selected poems” by ee cummings. i had a lot of fun writing in this structure! here’s the climb:

          do nothing and you’ll fall   
        nihilism holds the reigns
      energies align your fate 
    carrying you with grace
  steadfast and strong
ascend expectations
